Nerve-Sensors Fiber Optic Sensor Cable for Civil Engineering Applications

High weather-resistant composite fiber optic distributed sensor cable that can be embedded in concrete and soil!

The Epsilon series optical fiber sensor cable from Nerve-Sensors SHM is a highly weather-resistant fiber sensor cable that addresses challenges in the construction field related to the application of existing optical fibers and multilayer coated optical fibers (such as alkaline degradation of coating resins and slipping of multilayer materials). It features a composite structure with a thick epoxy resin coating and spiral processing using reinforcing materials, enhancing weather resistance and mechanical strength against moisture and alkaline environments, making it suitable for direct burial in concrete and soil. The sensor measurement instruments used in combination are based on OTDR systems, which have low dependency on manufacturers and models, allowing them to meet various requirements such as new installations and additional sensors at existing sites. The primary measurement parameters are mechanical strain and displacement, with options available for optimized temperature measurement. Particularly strong in alkaline environments of concrete and ensuring mechanical strength, this product is highly useful for monitoring the health and condition of large infrastructure structures (such as roads, bridges, tunnels, and dams) as well as for monitoring soil landslides and subsidence. Recently, its growing recognition and practical deployment speed in the European market have garnered attention.
